In October 2018 we took a couple of weeks off and did a little tour of Eastern Europe. We started in Helsinki, Finland where we only had a short amount of time. Next, we took a flight across to Saint Petersburg, Russia, where we spent the most time as it’s where my wife taught English for a while and she has friends there. After that, we flew across to the capital, Moscow. We ended our trip in Berlin, Germany.

For this trip of a lifetime, I ordered an old Soviet camera, an AGAT 18k. This tiny Belarussian camera shoots half-frames. So, for every 35mm film frame, you get two pictures. It has a pretty wide-angle lens, so capturing candid moments is pretty achievable. Getting the right focus is the hard part, as you’ll see below!
